K9 Trainer

The K9 Trainer is responsible for maintaining all canines that are assigned to them for their training, files such as medical records, training records, evaluation records, and train dogs in different phases in their advancement levels ranging from basic obedience to more advanced tasks based upon our program. The K9 Trainer will also provide phone consultations for Warrior graduates having potential questions or issues with their service dog. Trainers are also responsible for assisting in the care and health of the dogs in kennel, feed dogs and give medications when required. Assist in evaluating potential dogs for our program, assist in maintaining relationships with rescue groups and foster families.

Trainers with 2 or more years of dog training experience required, service dog experience preferred.  K9s For Warriors is one of the largest veteran’s service dog organizations in the United States.  We are looking for knowledgeable, team and goal driven trainers.

Overtime time, 40+ hours per week

Apprentice K9 Trainer

The Apprentice K9 Trainer is responsible for maintaining medical records, training records, evaluation records, train dogs in beginning phase of basic obedience and kennel enrichment, and general assistance to K9 Trainers. The Apprentice K9 Trainer is responsible for the care and wellness of the dogs in kennel by regular feedings and providing medications when required, retrieve samples of different variations for the vet (fecal and urine samples), assist in transportation of potential dogs for our program. This position works closely with the Kennel Master in regards to canine care.

Part time, 20 hours per week
