Lead K9 Trainer

Helping our veterans and rescue dogs is our priority at K9s For Warriors, it has led to our success. As a result, we continue to grow, and we are searching for Lead Canine Trainers with at least 4 years of dog training experience. If your experience and background consists of service dog training and canine personnel supervision, we especially want to hear from you. K9s For Warriors is one of the largest veteran’s service dog organizations in the United States.

We have immediate openings for Lead Canine Trainers who will be responsible for maintaining the canines that are assigned to them for their training as well as monitoring a team of trainers and their assigned dogs. Our candidates will be detail oriented and will need to be able to maintain each canine’s medical, training and evaluation records as per our policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for training dogs through several different phases which includes obedience and public access to more advanced tasks based on our protocols and standard operating procedures.

Our candidate will also need excellent communication and management skills to answer training questions and or issues from our trainers.  You will also need to have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.  Our trainers are also responsible for assisting in the care and health of our dogs which consists of feeding, breaking, and or providing medications when needed.

Director of Development

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war, such as Post-traumatic Stress. Our unique, in-house program helps change the lives of American heroes by pairing them with a battle buddy, who was likely a rescue dog, and then teaching him or her to utilize that dog to mitigate the symptoms of their wounds. It takes a team effort to make this happen. Our dedicated staff, no matter what department, comes into work knowing that they are helping to save lives, both human and furry! Our mission-first culture has guided our incredible success and growth. In order to help fuel our life-changing program, we are in search of a Director of Development.

Basic Function:

This position serves as the chief fundraising strategist for K9s For Warriors and is responsible for all aspects of resource development including the development and execution of major gifts, third-partying fundraising, work place giving, signature fundraising events, and planned giving. This position will build and maintain constituent relationships, develop and execute growth, create retention and acquisition strategies for donors, plan and coordinate engagement opportunities, including the planning and implementation of annual fundraising campaigns, and lead a team of talented individuals to success. This position will work very closely with the director of education and marketing.
