Director of Development

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war, such as Post-traumatic Stress. Our unique, in-house program helps change the lives of American heroes by pairing them with a battle buddy, who was likely a rescue dog, and then teaching him or her to utilize that dog to mitigate the symptoms of their disabilities. It takes a team effort to make this happen. Our dedicated staff, no matter what department, comes into work knowing that they are helping to save lives! Our mission-first culture has guided our incredible success and growth. In order to help fuel our life-changing program, we are in search of a  Director of Development.

Basic Function:

This position serves as the chief fundraising strategist for K9s For Warriors and is responsible for all aspects of resource development including the development and execution of major gifts, third-partying fundraising, work place giving, signature fundraising events, and planned giving. This position will build and maintain constituent relationships, develop and execute growth, create retention and acquisition strategies for donors, plan and coordinate engagement opportunities, including the planning and implementation of annual fundraising campaigns, and lead a team of talented individuals to success. This position will work very closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and Education team.

Our candidate will need excellent communication and management skills to build relationships with donors and sponsors. Common knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word is required.
